ICBI Projects

The International Ch’an Buddhism Institute supports the development of cutting-edge, progressive, and subtle practical and academic projects that are designed to propagate Ch’an Buddhism in its many guises, and to raise the consciousness level of humanity. These projects are innovative and the product of direct awareness.  They are intended to cut-through the surface tension of the ordinary mind, and reveal the empty mind ground.  ICBI Projects are defined by the following rules:

1) All projects should be original.

2) Anyone can propose a project.

3) Project may be practical or academic, or an integration of both.

4) Projects may be ongoing or one-off events.

5) Projects may be developed through a group, or by an individual.

6) Projects must be relevant to mind cultivation.

7) Projects must be progressive.

8) Projects must be mind-centric.

9) Projects must be ethically and morally pure.

10) Projects must contribute to the goodness in the world.

11) Projects should not be rigid in philosophical interpretation.

12) Once initiated, projects should be continued and/or concluded.

Anyone interested in starting, or participating in an ICBI Project should contact:
