Journal of the ICBI (Currently Suspended)

The ICBI eJournal Patriarch’s Vision has been published quarterly for three years. It is now considered that its primary function has been successfully fulfilled.  During this time, 12 unique editions have been produced and published online, which now serve as a creative, academic foundation for the continuation of the ICBI Chinese Ch’an Buddhism Education Project.  As a consequence, the ICBI eJournal Patriarch’s Vision will be ‘suspended’ for the foreseeable future – with the existing 12 editions remaining online, free for all to read.  Should conditions change, the publication of Patriarch’s Vision will be resumed. (27.6.2016)

1) The academic journal of the ICBI will be published online.

2) Where possible, and if circumstances permit, the journal may also be published in print.

3) The journal will be published quarterly.

4) The journal shall be called: 'Patriarch’s Vision – the Journal of the International Ch’an Buddhism Institute – or ‘PV-ICBI’.  

5) The purpose of the journal is to freely convey to the people good quality education regarding Ch’an Buddhism and related subjects.

6) Anyone may submit articles for consideration, in accordance with the following stipulations:
   
    a) the submitter must be the author of the article
    b) submitted articles must be original work
    c) submitted articles must be unpublished
    d) articles may be between 500 and 7000 words long
    e) articles must be well written and edited before submission
    f) all submissions will be considered equally for publication

7) The journal encourages free and creative thinking that breaks out of the confines of conventional expression.

8) Conventional academic works are welcome.

9) Contributions should be comprised of advanced thinking.

10) The journal will be published on the ICBI website free for all to access.

11) Submissions may be submitted in writing or via email to:
